Kuantan Singingi, Riau (ANTARA News) - The Highway Construction (Bina Marga) and the Water Resource office of the Kuantan Singingi district said it would act firmly against two companies failing to carry out their contracts in 2012.
CV Amar Permata Indonesia and CV Arca Lindo failed to finish their bridge projects as scheduled in that district, the head of the district Bina Marga and Water Resource office, Aswan, said here on Friday.

"The two companies will be punished with a fine and blacklist,"

CV Amar Permata Indonesia holds the contract to build a Rp3.6 billion bridge project in the village of Inuman and CV Arca Lindo is the contractor for another bridge project valued at Rp1 billion in the village of Basrah.

CV Amar Permata will be punished with a fine and it would be blacklisted for no clear reason in failing to carry out its contract.

CV Arca Lindo would be punished only with fine as its failure to carry out its contract was blameable mainly on natural factor.

The company would be given 50 additional days to finish the project , Aswan said.

He said in 2012, around 95 percent of public works projects in the district were completed as scheduled.

In 2013, the Bina Marga office would prioritize on construction of a bridge spanning the Mudik Ulo river in the sub-district of Hulu Kuantan to cost Rp 8 billion.

Aswan said the district administration proposed a budget of Rp 114 billion for highway and water resources projects this year.
