Growing tension around the disputable islands in the East China Sea
The Government of Japan said it could soon release evidence that would show that the Chinese naval frigate recently really locked on a Japanese ship near disputable islands in the East China Sea.
From Tokyo told that information may be released to the public after Beijing denied all allegations that a ship going for their Japanese destroyer last month.
In the meantime, China insists that during the incident only used ordinary radar for surveillance, not targeting radar. During this incident, there was until now the greatest danger on the exchange of fire between the two sides.
Both nations lay claim to territorial rights to several islands in the East China Sea, which is known as Senkaku in Japan, Diaoyu in China. On this island, which is currently controlled by Japan, and Taiwan claimed.
"The government is currently considering the amount of information that could be released to the public," said Itsunori Onodera, Japanese Minister of Defense.
Onodera said recently that it is mid-January a Japanese military helicopter also targeted a similar type of radar. On Friday, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called on Beijing to acknowledge what happened during the incident 30th January and to apologize, reports the BBC.
However, China's Ministry of Defence has denied all claims of Japan and Japan urged to stop increasing tensions in the East China Sea. According to them, in both incidents the Chinese vessels used ordinary radar for surveillance.
